My little ETX-70 for sale...
well used, great condition, works fine.

EXTRAS INCLUDE
- tabletop tray (homemade) that also mounts to a standard tripod (see photo) and holds eyepieces as shown.
(Tripod available separately, see below.)
- focuser extension cable & knob
- "Super Wide Angle Long Eye relief" 25mm & 10mm eyepieces, and 6mm Plossl eyepiece, which is 'almost' a parfocal set, with much wider fields, and hence much easier to use than the original kit eyepieces. These provide mags of 14,35 & 58x, with a widest field of almost 4deg. with the 25mm.
- re-collimated, and internally flocked to reduce reflections.
- type 494 hand controller tracks well, and has been "re-trained" to minimise backlash in the motors. ( I can set up the home location for the new owner...)

This type of scope excels at wide-field views of milky way and star clusters, and fills a niche between binoculars and bigger narrower-field scopes. Best views are with the 25 & 10mm eyepieces. I have also used it at 120x to view a couple of bands on Jupiter as well as the 4 moons, and see Saturns ring, and 4 trapezium stars in Orion Nebula. Though to be truthful, the optics hit their limit at that point, and are best a lower powers as per supplied eyepieces. Finer detail such as Cassini Division in Saturns ring is beyond this scope.

Great fun to play with, very portable, and a great way to learn your way aroung go-to before committing to something bigger with a steeper learning curve.

asking $250 for the scope, eyepieces and tray, as a tabletop setup.

the tripod for separate sale is a manfrotto 055 with fluid 128 head, well used but very solid and serviceable, asking $150.

Pickup preferred, in Adelaide.
I will be taking it all to VicSouth star party 29 Oct to 2 Nov, and offer it for sale at the trading table.

Postage arrangements will be at buyers expense.
Contact me for details.
