Hi
I had a go at NGC 300. Not a great effort but here is the best I could get of the very limited data I had. The end product is a bit clipped and not defined as well as I would like but nevertheless, it's a new one for me.

I'll have to get more lights next time

cheers

That's a pretty good result I think. I vaguely remember trying this one and deciding perhaps it was too big for my FOV, anyway, I don't think I ended up with as good a result as this.

Thanks Roger,
I wasn't going to post at first because it's not that great a pic but we dont see it often and I will have to have another better go at it in the future
thanks

That's pretty damn good Frank for such a low SB object @ f/7. Your guiding looks spot on! What program are you using for autoguiding?

Thanks Paul,
I use PHD which is quite good.
I use a QHY5 camera (thank Theo-Gamma) on a WO ZS 80 mm.

I'm thinking that until i get a self guiding cmera i might like to increase the focal length of the guide scope but then it gets a bit hard to find guidestars bright enough...
Anyhow, PHD does a great job, I'm quite pleased with it

Frank, a C14 on a G11, thats fairy ambititous, I dont remember what the prime FL is, I guess your useing a FR for f7 ?. Guiding is very good for that FL I must say.

Fred,
The C14 is a native F11 with FL 3910
I use a celestron FR 6.3 but not sure exactly what the ends up being as it's on a F11 and has bits and pieces (camera, focusser etc) attached.
F7 seems pretty close i guess
it feels more like F8 or 9 in truth though...

You've pulled a lot of detail out of a very diffuse object there. Nicely done.
