Heres two shots taken from Cambroon, 24/10/08. Both on fixed tripod whilst I was working on my drift alignment...

350D + Sigma 24-60 F/2.8 (24mm F/2.8) ISO800
Single 30 second exposures, adjusted in photoshop.

First shows Jupiter and Venus, by the time of the second shot, Venus had disappeared behind the trees...

Thanks for looking.
Alex.

Very nice Alex. The dark sky certainly makes a difference! (Compare them to my shot from last night!)

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Mike & Stephen.

Stephen, Yes, Nothing compares to dark skies... The detail and range of colors that can be obtained in very short exposures is amazing.

They sure are dark!! At home I can't see the milky way at all... From Astroron's house in Cambroon, Its clearly visible....

Its always great to have the opportunity to get out to dark skies.. especially when they are that dark!! :)

Beautiful Alex, did you have to do much in Photoshop for final outcome?

adjusted contrast, a touch of saturation, and a little bit of a stretch in curves... Not very much at all considering..
