I went out to the car park to find a kid drawing on my car:mad2:.
He was in a group of 6 and although he was little the others were bigger than me.
I am amazed how big some 15 year olds are these days.:eyepop:
I was so enraged I grabbed him and told him he was toast and that he was off to the police station but that I may just give him the flogging of his life.
He seemed a bit scared and can only wonder how I must have looked from his side of things.
I sent the others packing and in retrospect I was stupid to engage when I was absolutely outnumbered and outclassed but with flames coming out my ears they all seemed terrified:D.
He got away from me and off I went after him and the others who were a bit ahead.. I reckon for a 60 year old I am pretty fit but after chasing them down the street and up the stairs at the station they luckily (for both me and them) got on the train and the doors closed before I could get them. Missed them only by seconds.
I realised that I had the steering lock in my hands and hate to think how many heads I would have smashed before reason came over me.
But I have the feeling they may think twice before doing it again or at least they will have a tale to tell their mates at school on Monday...by then I bet I have grown to 7 foot tall and was weilding a 6 foot sword:lol::lol::lol:
But it is this sort of thing why I try and stay up in the hills as some fool seems to do something that switches me into a mode that I worry about.

Its legal to forcibly hold someone you see commit an offense, but getting them to stay still while calling the Police is a problem.
Scott
What to say...
I know when I was a youngun' and played up badly...I got disciplined.
Do I resent it now as a grown man, with a good set of values and a life which for the most part is a good one?
Not on your life.

Your best bet is to grab them, spin them round and hold the by the back of their neck (tight) with one hand, whilst you call the police with the other hand... if they start to squirm around a bit, turn on speaker phone , put them on the ground and sit your left knee on their right shoulder, they wont get up thats for sure..
Obviously doing this while their 6 mates are standing around isnt the wisest of choices... But I would do it in half a heart beat if I found some kid writing graf on my car... He'd be black and blue and when the cops show up "he looked like that when I got here officer.."

You know why this doesn't happen in places like Singapore
here the laws are lax and the punishment punitive
the perpetrators don't care judges say naughty Johnny don't do it again
I say bring back corporal punishment in schools for a start,
it's about time pollies listened to the majority not the touchy feelie do gooder minorities who don't have their rich neighbourhoods affected the way the commoner burbs do.
I'm mad as hell about graffiti and it's about time someone did the tough things needed to stop it
:mad2::mad2:
Sorry to hear about that Alex. Did you file a police report?

Hi Kal thanks for the condolences:thumbsup:.
No mate I did not go to the police...as I said the way I figure it, on the balance, I was lucky, as after I started running something kicked in and I could have got myself into re trouble if I had hit them with the steering lock.
I am not big on cars and it is not a flash one really...it could have been my Son's flash car then I would be real concerned but I can wear it..life goes on and no one got hurt.
AND to be honest the run made me feel that I was not as old as I look...I did not get puffed one bit ...thats the bush life for you and gathering wood just to have the morning cuppa...there is always more upside than down side the secret is to look for it:D.
Anyways when I get back up home the dust should cover it;)

Actually I thought of some things I did when about this kids age:whistle: and felt a little ...er hypocritical I suppose:D... I think we had a thread once as to some of the mischief we once got up to... and this kid actually reminded me of me..he was the runt of the group as was I in my tribe..he was good looking for a kid as I was:D and not withstanding him making a break respectful at least as I was when I was a kid:rolleyes::whistle:.
I am seeing in others, of late failings, I have..the lady friend can go off like you would not believe :scared: and it was witnessing one of her over the top extreme outbursts that I realised that my recent outburst with my Son, where in I threw out his stuff out of the house here and told him if he did not get it by 10am that I would load the truck with it and drive the lot through his office window...Fortunately he picked it up or rather had a staff memeber do it so as to keep out of my path whilst I was mad... well I felt justified at the time:screwy: but observing (you know who) go off and finding myself judging her actions as those of a mad person I was able to look at myself and realise that others must sometimes see me that way..I mean I never really go off but when I do I have to admit it must be pretty scarey to others and I to would be judged mad crazy and to have lost all reason...and so I could admit that notwithstanding he needed pulling up on certain matters and made the mistake of overstepping the line that I could have handled it in a placid manner.
But I thank her for holding a mirror so to speak such I could appologise to my Son and forgive him and myself as well... so we are back to being the best of mates again... I am so proud of him he is a decent human being.

Well, if you catch someone doing something illegal , I think you can apprehend them and take them the police if they wont come to you. It's called a CITISENS' ARREST.
I think kids these days get away with murder though and it will achieve nothing to apprehend them.
Take a photo of the little mungrel , evern better if you catch them in the act with the camera, and show that to the cops and the demand action.
A parent giving a kid a belting is perfectly OK in my opinion , my boy copped a few while he growing up, and I copped some from my dad too.
Kids have no respect for their parents or their elders these days and it's something that will produce big problems and is already doing so - look at the number of stabbings and brawls that happen now - never heard off when I was growing up (in the 60,70 and 80s)

Seeing silver linings and focusing on what you've got rather than what you haven't are wonderful skills, but pointless property damage does test ones patience. I do like to dream of connecting a non-lethal voltage to the post box on a Saturday night; maybe film it and send it to funniest home videos. Maybe a super low current/high voltage that'll arc through the air like the emperors force lightning. I find simply imagining such scenarios usually satisfies the need for revenge.
:lol::lol: that sounds like a great idea hahaha

The main problem these days is no discipline or punishment for the criminals and no justice for the victims, we can thank human rites people for that as they believe punishment is wrong even if you did kill someone all you need is help and advice not to be punished?? A pack of wankers IMO :)
