The family and I went bushwalking at Katandra Reserve (on the Central Coast, near Ourimbah/Lisarow) yesterday.
Was a nice day for it, warm and pleasant.. Turned out to be quite a walk though, about 1hr 45 minutes, right down into the valley and then (urk) back up again. The kids actually held up quite well, not *too* much whinging by the end of it.. The promise of Hungry Jacks for lunch after kept them going :)
1st shot: Daddy (me!) with Abbey on the backpack, ready for the trek!
2nd shot: Some bushes on the walk
3rd shot: Jacob and Eliza and a huge tree
4th shot: Very tiring for Abbey, she fell asleep on my back about 10 minutes from the end :)
Comments welcome.

Houghy,
Did you get a chance to catch the USS Kittyhawk back in July?
I took the family down and it was awesome......
Amazing machinery and technology.

Thanks guys.
h0ughy, for a 4 and 6 year old it was fine. It wasn't a "difficult" walk, most of it is a marked track. The steeper parts have steps, so it's quite easy. If you do the whole round trip it took us about 1hr 45 minutes but you can just do sections of it if you want it easier/shorter.

thanks mike, you might have to show me how to get there one day!
Mate, I reckon you could point that 500 Sigma telephoto Lens towards Sydney and see anything ... Just like being there

Thanks Stuart, probably don't get out as often as we should but with 3 young kids sometimes it's easier to stay at home :D
This weekend for fathers day, we'll be heading back to Bouddi national park (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=1864) for a trek down to the beach, should be another fun day and I hope the weather holds up!
