Anne-Louise found a Wagtail nest the other day, so I had a wander around the corner to see what I could see.

Since I had the camera, I tried to snap some shots of the bees over the Mermaid rose. Not in the same class of the other macro shooters here, but these are about the best I got. Full shot, crop, and DFDB (different flower, different bee... cropped about 25%)

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks Tony and David. Took them with the Canon 400D, 77-300 zoom @75 mm with a screw-on macro lens I got with a Zenit camera years ago. Don't know what the 4+ stands for, but that was on the lens. Sharpened, cropped and resized with PS CS2.

Thanks Stephen.
On a somewhat sad note. I appears that a crow attacked the nest a few hours after I took the images of the wagtail. I haven't looked into the nest for the eggs, but the wagtails are not sitting anymore... survival for the fittest I suppose.
