This is an M45 I took last month at Wurina near Ilford - the ASNSW dark sky farm near Mudgee.

It is 4x10 in each colour, no luminance.

I am happy with the selective enhancing of the nebulosity but I think none the less I can do a bit better. It looks a bit forced IMO in some parts.

The scope is a Takahashi FSQ-106 and the camera an STL-11000m

Enjoy!

Very nice Monte :)

I always love the way an STL11K treats stars. Beautifully defined, smooth and consistent. The FSQ isn't a bad thing to have in the way either.

Well done - lovely.

Very Nice Monte. The extremely wide field of the FSQ makes a lot of the surrounding nebula visible. Most of this is missed with a narrower field. The nebula colour looks great with the nebula over the stars still having that brushed look.

Very nice image. Well done.

Just a fact Peter. One is next on my "major things to get" list.

Yep Monte - can you point us to a larger image?

Yes, really nice to see the surrounding nebulousity in this wider field. Wish I could see it from my location.

The halo you get due to internal reflections doesn't look out of place on M45. Great shot.

I recon that's bloody great mate!

Looks very cool in wide field with all that extent of nebulosity and dust, heck I think even Fred would like it...well, a bit? :P

Good one Monte, the 106-11k seem to have a similar FOV as I get with my 20D and 200mm lens but heaps more resolution!
Nice M45!
cheers

A ripper. Great resolution and enough esposure to get the whispy neb plus the FOV for all that lovely surronding neb.

A beautiful shot Monte, with lots of nebulosity captured.

Will you be coming to IISAC this year and bringing your gear along?
I'm hoping to meet you, if I attend.

Thanks all for your kind comments. Yes I will be at IIS Camp with all my stuff. Hopefully I will arrive at about midday on Thursday.

If you've always wanted to take a pic with an STL here's your chance.

Looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can.

Regards

Monte
