Dont Know Whether Your Remote (TV Ect Ect) Works Or Not?

hi all

picked up this little trick from a newsletter i subscribe to

if you have a digital camera (interesting statement huh :) )

turn on, point your remote at the lens and press any key on it

and on your LCD screen you should see your remote flashing its little heart out :)

(eyes cant see it camera can)

Now I'll wait for the explanation as opposed to googling it. Someone's bound to have the answer;)

Something to do with IR, eye sensitivity, CCD chip, invisible spectrum, I suppose:shrug:.

Exactly correct Norm, I cannot give a technical reason, but many years ago when in the TV service industy, this was a common way to see if a remote control is transmitting - point it into a video camera.
