Hi all from the cloudy UK

Im new to IIS and thought I should say hi. I've been intersted in all things sky since the year dot but been in to astronomy 'proper' since 2005 when I got my first scope (see sig for my equip list). Ever since then, my interest has exploded getting right in to the thick of imaging and observing whenever my blessed British weather allows.

Im visiting my brother in Brisbane for the Christmas/new year period so you've probably guessed partly why I've signed up. Lots to learn, no pole star to be seen and not much experience of your wonderful Southern skies... very exciting tho.

I'll be posting up another thread asking about recommended observatories in the Brisbane, QLD area which might be worth a visit during my stay.

Clear skies
Matt

Gday Matt and :welcome: to the club. You will be more than welcome to join us at our Cambroon (Astroron's place, he's a Prisoner of Mother England as well  ) Dark Sky Nights (about an hour and a half north of Brisbane) on the new moon every month. The only requirement is that you leave your cloudy weather at home.
