I have just bought myself a pair of 15x70's with a binocular to tripod adapter.

As I dont own a photographic type tripod I was considering making a parallelogram type mount and attaching that to my scope tripod.

What i need to find out is if bolts are available with the same size and thread as that to fit cameras or binos.

Thanks .

Aren't they standard 1/4" threaded bolts? I'm sure you could just take your camera/binos to a hardware store and try a few out until you find one that fits.

Is this the new tripod thread? :D

"Tripod thread" may not be the best thread title... :P

Iceman is right, the standard thread for tripod/camera is 1/4" UNC, 20 Teeth per Inch and should be easily available from hardware and automotive shops.

Geoff, if you still have your Orion, why not use the bold that comes with the mounting rings for piggybacking the camera to that. Oh and yes the bolts are readily available at any hardware store.

Great news thanks guys

I had it in my head that it would be some weird non-standard thread.
