Hi everyone,
Well I have finally got around to processing some more images ex some more of Comet McNaught 2008. It would now be behind a tree for some weeks before I can have another peek.
The Ion tail on the 25th was the brightest that I have seen it and luckily the seeing wasn`t too bad as well as the transparency.
Image is a stack of 14 x 2-1/2 min with Canon 20D and 6" newtonian..
Full frame with minimal cropping...
Thanks for looking and CS
Gary

Excellent capture Gary. :)

The Ion tail really stands out. The comet looks like it is speeding through space against the background stars.

Very well done.

Check out the ion tail, a lovely blue colour and compliments the comet beautifully with it's aqua marine hue.
An excellent capture Gary.

Very nice Gaz, thanks for sharing!
Tail appears to be getting more prominent?
Haven't really had the time to keep-up with whats happening up there.
