Well folks, I've not done much astronomy for quite a while and the missus rightly decreed that it's time I stopped letting it all collect dust and let someone else get some use out of it. Included are:
Celestron 8" SCT with original 6x30 finderscope and fitted with a Skylight IA filter (to stop the dust getting into the OTA), visual back AND Bob's Knobs to make collimation a snap
Lovely original big box to pack it in (although mysteriously it doesn't fit the mount)
Excellent Celestron eyepieces (all fully multi-coated) and filters all packed in a lovely aluminium case including:
Star diagonal
4 mm Plossl
6 mm Plossl
9 mm Plossl
15 mm Plossl
26 mm Plossl
32 mm Plossl
2x Barlow
Eyepiece filter no's 12, 21, 25, 80A, 56, 58A plus a Moon filter
Variable polarising filter
A quite nice Japanese (non Celestron) 40mm Kelner eyepiece
A pretty crap 9mm Japanese eyepiece (use it to stop your notes flying away on a windy night while you use the Celestron one)
Vixen GP equatorial mount with weights on a beautiful timber tripod and kitted with RA motor drive
Dual drive motor controller (fit a motor to the Decl axis for a few hundred bucks to drive both axes!)
T adapter (for camera mounting) plus camera adapters for Minolta and Pentax cameras
Zenit 12XP 35 mm fully manual SLR camera body (accepts Pentax adapter). Weighs a ton but it's bulletproof, fully manual and mechanical. No batteries to go flat half way through an exposure. Just the jobbie when observing in a war zone.
Thermokleer Plus heated dew shield
Assorted cables, plugpack, battery pack, manuals and bits 'n pieces
Home made solar filter using Baader Planetarium solar filter film (used to take snaps of the transit of Venus)Some photos of the gear should follow soon (meaning as soon as I manage to upload them to my 'puter). Maybe also some snaps that I took with the above gear (if I can find where I filed them)
All the above is in near new condition and can be inspected in outer western Sydney near Penrith. Asking a paltry $1800 for the lot and am open to negotiation.
