I have a thing for galaxy clusters and Planetery nebulae

Seriously? From a dark sky site, galaxies. From home, double stars, messiers, brighter herschell 400's.

Nebula: EN, RN, SNR, PN any kind of nebula.

Recently picked up "The Night Sky Observer's Guide" and have been hunting galaxies by constellation.

PN's, Galaxies, Double stars and Variable star obs have to be the favourites. If there is no moon in the sky I search for Galaxies and PN's, with a moon, I observe brighter PN's and double stars. Variables I do every time I have the scope out. Sketching is another thing I love to do at the eyepiece.

I have a thing for either Globular clusters and only have 5 to go. The other target are the members of the Local Group of galaxies.

5 to go - in this galaxy or in the Universe, Andrew? :D More seriously, I understand that globulars around other galaxies can be seen with amateur equipment? I'm guessing you mean five more of the known Milky Way globulars? So how many are on your ticked list now?

Have to say none, but then having said that, Nebulas and Galaxies are my thing, when it comes to imaging, I'm still learning, but am getting there, I don't do visual stuff.

Yes. You can find globulars around M31 and the Fornax Dwarf with moderate sized amatuer equipment under dark skies.

But clusters are a wonder when the sky is clear. I get the western sky from the backyard so I plan to work on clusters based around on constellations to help me learn the sky more.. then I'll throw a dart at a list that includes nebulae, messiers etc.. and see what is next ..

The 5 Globulars I have yet to find are all Milky Way clusters. I have also observed numerous extragalactic Globulars as well including 2 clusters in NGC5128. There are several Globulars listed as targets in my talk for next weekend.
The 5 clusters are Liller 1, AM4, Pal 14, Terzan 11, Terzan 6. I managed to observe the clusters Pal 1 and Pal 2 from the US during my last 2 visits.
I hold little hope of seeing any of the remaining 5 but will continue to try.
