M8 Lagoon Nebula First Attempt

OK I've got the data but can't seem to get the colour right. Attached is the grayscale image and colour one

Any suggestions.

Hi Trevor,

Great alignment for an unguided image. I do not know anything about the camera you are using but you could check out EZYSTYLES.COM.AU as there are tutorials about processing using DSS and Photoshop. I always have a go at some processing using DSS. When your Image comes up you can go to the botttom and adjust the colours, luminance and saturation. I am no expert however pick a section of your image(click and drag) and line up all the colour histograms to about 1/3 from the left hand side. Once done go to your luminanc3e and adjust the midtones. I am guessing you could go about 8 on the top midtone and 33 on the bottom. Then adjust your other two but I find minimal difference in these. Once done got to saturation and boost it to between 15 and 20. If you go too far the image breaks up a little. Once this is done save and goto another program like PS

Thanks for that makes sense attached is the result although not perfect I can see the differences
