Researchers have found a statistical link between the sunspot cycle and the strength of hurricanes and cyclones on Earth. A controversial hypothesis for the mechanism between the two have been proposed - UV from sunspots heating the upper atmosphere. More from Nature:

very interesting - though it seems scientists want to link a lot of things to solar cycle. who knows if we will ever know for sure

They will try anything to show that human activity has nothing to do with climate change.
We all know how you can prove almost anything you want with statistics.....

I don't think that he is saying sunspots are causing climate change, only that they contribute .... but you can bet the skeptics will claim his work support them.

Statistics are more useful for disproving rather than proving.
"skeptic" comes from the Greek word SKEPSIS, which means thought. If the global warming advocates thought about what they believe in, then, they too would be skeptics
