Beautiful and clear! So the neighbours put on their 1,000 watt halogen that sends 70% of it's light into my backyard, to let their stupid little dog see where to crap and of course leave it on for the evening.... :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:
get a firecracker and toss it over the fence,
their stooopid little Sh1tsu won't be crapping outside anymore :D
:lol::lol::lol:
Awwww Sab you not having much luck are you :doh:

Good idea, I'm seriously thinking of investing in an air rifle - one that has just enough power to put a pellet through a halogen. Why do people insist on putting up a light ten times brighter than they could possibly need and then directing it into someone else's backyard? Not very greenhouse friendly is it? I wouldn't mind so much, but they have about 10 downlights around their house which are left on at all times that the sun is below the horizon.
Rant rant....
They eventually turned it off (I just got in), but of course they had to go check on pooch about the time when I'd just got well and truly dark adapted and of course the 10 downlights weren't bright enough for that....
Rant rant....
Anyway, had a good night in the end. Six globs, followed by all the double stars in the AS&T article on Pisces Australis, including the 1.5" split!!!:)
So rant over.
By the way Sab, you call Melbourne New Iceland, but according to the pics on this site, the real New Iceland has clear skies!! http://www.nihm.ca/
Whaaaaa? New Iceland is real?
I'm so pissed off these days that I'd actually do that for real and in court blame it on those good for nuthin teenage gangs

Eh!!! Saab, have you considered having a FRIENDLY chat with your neighbours re switching the light off. Maybe even explain why you need the darkness and invite them over for a look at the heavens. Works for me.

I had my neighbour ask me nicely to put a shield on my outdoor bug light as part of it shone on his bedroom window..even with the blinds and draps drawn..light did enter his room, (I did have a peek for myself!)..so no worries..some reworked aluminium sheeting and a few nuts and bolts later..problem solved!!

That sucks, I have a similar problem. My neighbour across the road just installed two lights on their driveway that now shine right into my backyard. I'm going to have to construct somesort of shield on my fence that pops up when I need it.
Sucks though.
