Greetings all. :welcome:

This is my first post,I'm new to the Iceinspace forums.
So I'll just get to my point.
I've just bought a Celestron powerseeker 127 Eq.
I've thought to myself that I'll like to upgrade the finder scope and probably get some new eyepieces/filters while im at it. Would anyone happen to know any major retailers that would sell any of this equipment?

I'll prefer it to be in the south eastern districts not across the countrysides

Any Suggestions?

Thank you.

Arman

Hi Arman, :welcome: to IceInSpace.

Best to try Bintel (http://www.bintelshop.com.au) in Melbourne, they've got a good reputation and quality gear.

Most are city based? Bintel are Camberwell. There are plenty of good mail order suppliers in Australia, if you know what you want and just want the best price (eg. eyepieces). Pick up Australian Sky & Telescope from the newsagent - most advertise in there.

Unfortunately, Melbourne does not seem to have the same number of retails as Sydney or Brisbane but the main retailers in Melbourne I am aware of would be:

Bintel: Camberwell (Bourke Rd)
York: City (Flinders St)
AstroOptical: St Kilda (Nepean Hwy) although the address does not appear on their website?

I'll probably go check York in Flinders street, may just go spend the day in the city =P

Kinda disappointed that Dick smith or Teds doesn't sell any accessories.

So they all send to addresses in Melbourne?

May do that,

may seem a lot easier than to travel there.

I've just remembered Kirks Cameras in Ringwood. Not a specialist astronomy supplier but they do have a lot of stuff - even sell Pentax and Vixen eyepieces.

AstroOptical: 320 St Kilda Rd, St Kilda 3182 (found it on another page)

There's a comprehensive list of retailers in IIS's own links page:

How did the trip in the city go anyways?
