It has been a while since I posted an image, my apologies but I have had a lot to learn with new gear and have been busy with other issues (family, work etc). Finally I have worked the gremlins out of the system.

Attached is the result of my first real go at LRGB imaging since acquiring all the new kit.

So this was with :

127 APO (thanks to Prova)
Astrodon LRGB filter set (thanks to Matt)
OpticStar 145m Ice CCD camera and a motorised ATIK filter wheel (thanks to OpticStar).
Astrodon Ha and Oiii Filters (have not tried those yet, but thanks in advance Narayan!)
WO Flat2 (Andrews)

Details: L 13x4min, RGB - 4x1min each all binned 2x2 acquired, calibrated and stacked in AA4 with levels in PS.

My apologies for rather harsh processing (clipped) but I did this in a bit of a rush and had to use synthetic flats and some NR as I did not get enough lights really for this dim object...will go back to see if I can get a better result with better calibration.

I am happy withthis as a start though as I have tried this object before with my (unmodded) 20d and it was virtually invisible...even with the 8".

I welcome your comments and feedback.

Looks more like the Helix Neb to me - not the M57. Subtle details are beginning to emerge. Good job and look forward to seeing more.
