Hello,
Would like to build the best possible performing 10" Newtonian and have been told of some very specific 'must have' books. Of course at the time, in one ear out the other...
Which are the best telescope building books?

"The Dobsonian Telescope" by David Kriege & Richard Berry is one to start with.

Here's a few others.
"Build Your Own Telescope" by Richard Berry
"Amateur Telescope Making Books 1, 2, & 3" by Albert G. Ingalls
"How to Make a Telescope" Jean Texereau

Some years ago when I first got into telescopes I would go to the nearby university and sit in the library browsing their collection of Sky and Telescope magazines. The state library in the city also had some good astronomy magazine collections. If you have access to an Astronomy society or club they will most likely have lot's of books and magazines available for loan to members.
