Hi Guys, now this is not as spectacular as Doug's image of that fire ball that he captured so well, but I thought I might share this with you as well.

A couple of nights ago I was trying to capture NGC 6520 and Barnard 86, the seeing and conditions were terrible but it was clear for about an hour before the clouds came in and are still here :sadeyes:

This is one Raw frame only totally as captured, no processing.

Anyway If I had got out my ruler I don't think I could have measured it that exact, as this plane beautifully drew two lines directly through my frame centering the object perfectly.

Certainly different, and Doug, don't worry mate, I'm trying to seal your thunder, so to speak, yours is much more exciting than this, but I thought I might share it anyway. :whistle:

Leon :thumbsup:

That pilot did that on purpose leon. Perhaps HE was Russian!!??:lol:

I would like to see the final image though - I love those Barnards dark nebulae and your sub looks really sharp.

Doug:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I agree with Doug, can't wait to see the final pic Leon, the sub looks great.

Great single shot Leon and sharp despite the seeing. If we knew the length of the exposure and the angular size of the frame (assuming cruising altitude), we could estimate the period of the wing lights and the wingspan thus allowing us to identify the aircraft... Have I mentioned its been very cloudy here for a while? :screwy:

I only ended up with 4 subs guys, but if you insist I will process it and see what it looks like, have to say though the weather was anything but good, actually very poor.

And Matt, your not wrong mate it just dose't get any better dose it.

Leon I had one of those at Qld astrofest this year - right through the middle of the shot - you couldnt have planned it if you tried.

Interesting Leon. You just never know what you will see when checking your subs after a session.

Must agree Doug's is a real gem
