Hi guys.
Forum member Darren (wombat_in_space) has (off his own back) done some investigation into getting some polo shirts with the IceInSpace logo embroided on it.
The shirts come in all sizes (S - 3XL for Mens, 8-20 for Women and 4-14 for Children). All Shirts are made from Poly/Cotton, 65/30 approximately 210gm and UPF +50 rated.
The shirts would cost approx $33-$37 posted to you.
This thread is to get an idea of how many people would be interested in buying one, because there will need to be at least 50 orders to get a run done. If there is enough interest, we'll put an order in.
Ultimately in the future there could be other merchandise with the IceInSpace logo, such as caps, cups, etc.
Please vote in the poll to show your interest. If there isn't the interest, it's no big deal.
Thanks to Darren for showing this initiative.
See the attachment for a mockup of the shirt.

Thanks Rob.
For now, you don't need to indicate the size, that will come as the next stage if we get enough interest to put in an order.

Yep I want 1......I would like to say size M but better play it safe and go for XXL......lol
that'd be great for star parties!!
how bout a cloth patch tho so you can sew it on to anything?
Robby
24-08-2005, 02:20 PM
Sew... None of us can sew ving!! :poke: Between us all we can weld, solder, chizel, hammer & rivet, but sew.. That's stretching it!!! I know mine would end up crocked with bit's of cotton every where!! :D :D...
Nice idea Mike.
umm... robby, thats why i have Cheryl

Me! Me! I'll take two. Is black the only colour they come in. I'd hate to be mistaken for an all black supporter (:P to Robby  )
See Mike, I knew that logo patch was a good idea. See even ving wants one :D And the eyepatch

I'd be game for a couple...provided they can be acquired in the "fuller" cut sizes...my nice way of saying that I am of a more "husky" size than most...
what are you on today!!! :P
an eyepatch sounds good tho :)

No problem Robby,
My wife being an expatriate Kiwi is also a dressmaker, Wouldn't she be impressed if I lined her up to sew on 150 pockets, I think not :)
I think the polo shirts are a great idea and I would buy at least 1 maybe 3. May I also suggest that you consider getting them made "with a pocket" for such things as cigarettes, laser pointers etc.

Yep ...great Idea
For those of us in the northern 1/2 of the country, quality 100% cotton is the go.
Poly Cotton is too hot & scratchy in the wet season otherwise !

I'd be more interested if the trims weren't there either. Just plain black will do.
I'm a possible for now though.

Hi guys and girls I though I might add a link to the company that makes the polos so you can see the shirt in a clear image as the one I sent to mick is a bit fuzzy in the areas of the contrast stripes.

Mick,
That's a great idea if its possible, something like the front panel on the Argo Navis controller would be great.

Sausageman
31-08-2005, 05:47 PM
This could turn into a whole range of clothing :)
IIS Ski jackets and pants for the really cold nights, Leg warmer thingy's for the scopes. Monogrammed undies for the really keen.
Maybe a range of swim wear  with "Mine's a 8, 10, 12 inch on them.
You know what I mean !!!!! the telescope size....
You could definately export stuff like that.

Perpetuating the stereotype of daggy astronomers, eh?
Short shorts, socks and sandals with a polo shirt.
I love it :)

haha Dave, I think a pocket protector would work well on a polo shirt with a pocket :)
C'mon guys only 36 people have voted, not enough interest for a run yet.

How about eyepiece pockets sown in with lint free linings, to keep them warm and free from dust and fibres. :)

Iceman,
I have voted in the positive, but I have trouble with corporate T-shirts in the past. What is the largest size?
Cheers

LOL Tony, the sizes are available in the measurements below, see the attachments.

Yes again
I'll have one
put me down for 1 x 2XL
cheers! :D
Mike
Would be keen to get hold of a red light pen and polo.
Would also like a few stickers for the scope, EP case etc
Are all these items still available? If so, is it OK to use internet banking to pay???
iceman
23-11-2005, 05:42 AM
Matt,
For the red light pen(s), follow the instructions in this post here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=55894&postcount=31). Please note though, the suppliers haven't sent the pens yet so it'll still be several weeks before you receive them.
Stickers are no problem (and they're free!), just send me a stamped self-addressed envelope (business size preferrably, otherwise they might be folded).
The polo shirts, I haven't ordered yet because there hasn't been enough interest. From my experience with the Astronomy 2006 books, 50 people voting yes does not mean 50 people put money in my account to pay for it. I'm not keen to be out of pocket and left with 30 polo shirts sitting at home. Maybe in the future when there is more interest i'll get a run done.
