Little used, as new two year old SolarMax 40 telescope with BF10. Comes with case, set of Coronado Cemax 12mm, 18mm, 25mm eyepieces/2x Barlow/case, SolRanger finder, spare clamshell (v. light marks) and manual. The Coronado SolarMax 40/BF10/TMax Filter can be easily removed from the OTA and be double stacked on a PST or attached to your own scope provided you have the appropriate TMax adaptor. $1950 or trade for Takahashi FS-102 OTA (preferably with clamshell/finder). PM's please.

Can you use binoviewers with this?

I don't own a binoviewer so cannot comment whether it is suitable or not. The sales blurb from Meade/Coronado states :

With the SolarMax40 telescope it is possible to see all of the limb detail present in PST images. but with enhanced surface features. The SolarMax40 telescope comes standard with a BF5 blocking filter but a BF10 version is also available and recommended for use with imaging equipment and bino-viewers. The larger blocking filter allows users to extend the focal length without vignetting but does not enhance detail or lower the bandpass. A second SolarMax40 filter/T-Max can be purchased, along with a small adaptor plate, and these can be attached to the front in order to lower the bandpass to 0.5 angstroms. This is called ‘double stacking’ and further enhances surface detail.

Dear Stephen,

Is this a 0.7 (single etalon) or a 0.5 Angstrom (double stacked - dual etalon) unit.

Thanking you.
