View Full Version here: : Talk about depressing
Hi Guys, I have been dying to get out and do some imaging as I have changed my set-up. :D
Each day it is crystal clear, not a cloud to be seen, then at about 7 pm in they come, it stays like that all night and by morning it is crystal clear again, all day.
Not impressed.
Leon
Anyway hear is my different, not new set-up, just added a 5D with 135mm F/2.0L Lens on the right side, and put the Guide scope on the left.
The 5D on the Scope is the Modded one, and the other is still normal, until the warranty runs out and I will pull that apart as well to mod it. ;)
I just happen to have two replacement filters in my astro cupboard.
Leon
Shame about the weather, but typical when you have a new setup or equipment you want to test.
A very impressive looking setup Leon !
Especially when you're going to have two modded 5D's working.
Are you planning on getting another angle finder for the other 5D or just use the same one ?

It is always the way, isn't it Leon. Perfect weather during the day and then as soon as it turns dark, the clouds turn up.
Apart from that, an awesome looking setup Leon. :)
Andrew I think one Angle Finder will serve both units at the moment, my plan is to have both cameras imaging at the same time though.
Something like the scope doing, say, 6mins subs and the lens because it is much faster than the scope, probably half that.
So I will get a wide field from the Tak and an extra wide field from the lens, at the same time of the same object, anyway that is the plan.

Same here in Melbourne's NE suburbs Leon. I have had only two nights in the last months that even came close to being clear. If we were getting plenty of rain it would not matter. I wish you luck with the nice new setup. Keeping track of two cameras sounds daunting but at least it will double your data collection when the clouds finally decide to go south for the summer.

Yea Bert I know, but what the heck, it either comes off, or I just do one at a time, there is not much else to do than fiddle with the set-up, and come up with new ideas, until this lousy weather comes good.

l share the pain Leon, l worked all day yesterday and every time l looked outside nothing but clear skies. Thinking a good night would take away the thoughts of work l opened up the observatory roof when l got home and went inside for tea, came back out about 40min later and guess what.
