Hi Folks
Here are two images I took last night.
C/2008 A1 McNaught - 4 minutes at 800ISO and
6P d'Arrest - 5 minutes at 800ISO
Both taken through my Skywatcher 102 with Canon 350D at prime focus.
Piggybacked on an LX200GPS and autoguided with a DSI.
Images processed in CS3 and cropped to suit with Noiseware was used to reduce some noise.
C/2008 A1 McNaught is the brighter comet.
Paul
Beautifully captured Paul !
That second shot is a ripper.

Nice shootin' Paul! It will be interesting to see how McNaught changes over he next month. Any idea of the movements of 6Pd'Arrest and what it's likely path through the sky will be?

Thanks Andrew and Paul for your words,
The link below was given to me from Rob_K, this gives you details and all movements of many comets and by the sounds of it this comet might flair up.

Good shootin Paul, did McNaught again last night and have noticed that the Ion tail was considerably brighter than a few days back. Might be worth keeping a eye as it scoots along!

Thanks Gary,
McNaught is bright and alive, if I get a chance tonight I may have another go at it before it falls below next doors tree!
The link Rob_K gave links to all comets and a small report but your link is more detailed, thanks for that.
Are you going to post the image you took last night?

cheers Paul! Here is a image from the 25th, totally unprocessed. Done more last night and the Ion tail seems fainter again. Changes alot from night to night! Like you I shall loose it too due to a large tree and won`t be able to see it from home for a few weeks to it pops out the other side..
cheers Gary

That's a beauty Gary! Can't mistake that one.
I had another go at it last night as well and will post soon after I fiddle with it.
Keep at it Gary, things are looking good.
Paul
