Hi All,

I managed to capture the ATV during its final good pass over Brisbane at 4:31 this morning. This image (taken with Pentax K100D, telephoto set on 70mm, f/4, 800 iso and 20 sec exposure) shows the ATV passing through the area of Tucana and Octans. It was a bit of a rush trying to set up in time, but I'm happy enough with the results. Its a shame we dont get to see the burn-up in a few days time!

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Mike and Dennis.

The predicted mag was 0.3 Mike, and I think it was at least that. I guess its altitude is dropping now, hence the brightening. Another fainter satellite passed along a similar path about 5 minutes earlier, not sure what it was. And there was a very bright meteor in the same patch of sky, but of course it was a few seconds after the exposure I posted here :(.

Cheers,
Stephen

Great catch Stephen. No passes up North for us  I hear that the the final demise into the Pacific will be monitored by NASA ..... I thought it was live on NASA TV, but cant see that on the site. Goodbye Jules.
