Taken last night 500sec each RGB. 5sec for the core each RGB Taken with NP101mm F5.4 and ST2000 on G11 mount.

Hi Phil, Very nice clean image of 47 Tuc. I think you still have a bit of room to manipulate this image with levels and curves in photoshop which will make the glob and surrounding stars jump off the page. Nicely focused and I like the diffraction spikes.

It's a v.nice shot Phil, but personally I think the spikes are just a little too much IMO, but it's just personal taste.
Also seems to have a slight magenta cast.
Maybe you can tweak the levels slightly.

I agree with all the above. The spikes look fake IMO especially being perfectly square with the image and detract from it.

Nice image, you did a lot of things right here.

I don't mind the spikes myself.

There is a colour balance problem with the magenta cast and the stars could be sharpened slightly.

Try curves/wondows/histogram (now you have all the colours and their histogram and you'll see which one is out of whack). Adjust curves to pull back the colour that is not the same as the others.

Perhaps curves on RGB to brighten the image generally.

Try smart sharpen a bit. See if you like it.

Heres it is again, curves and levels adjusted ever so slightly, and a very slight unsharp mask in photoshop...

A lovely shot Phil and a great tweek by AlexN. I always thought that globs would be more yellow in general given their age but every shot I see is bright with lots of blue stars. Thanks.
