Hi guys.

It does appear that the forum site is slower to load at the moment, probably for the last few days I've noticed it. For me, the header appears instantly, but then it takes 2-4 seconds for the progress bar to reach 100% and then the rest of the page displays.

I'll speak with mojo today and see if we can't debug where the slow loading is coming from. It could be the server host, in which case I'll raise it with them, but I also want to eliminate any potentially slowness caused by the loading of the left bar (menu, pics etc).

So there may be times where the left bar isn't displayed in its entirety as we turn some things on and off trying to find the source of the slowness.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused, hopefully we'll get to the source of the problem this week.

I have noticed the moon not loading sometimes over the last week.

I'm quite sure it's a bandwidth problem on the server, I've noticed some ftp sessions running on the server which is limiting the available bandwidth - therefore, the site loads slower.

Will talk to the server hosts and see what can be done, otherwise I'll look at other alternatives for hosting.

Slow at the moment is a bit of an understatement. It is though I am back on dial-up and a slow one at that. You gotta give your webhosts a rocket, this really is the pits.
I actually run another forum, and have never had these sort of slow downs. Definitely time to give them the flick I reckon. I dont know what your hosting fees are, but I am actually only paying $60USD a yr and never have any probs with the hosting company.

I agree at times (over the last week or two) it has been terrible, but in general the slowness comes and goes, so I think your statement is a bit of an exaggeration or generalisation.

I don't know anything about your other forum, what it has on it or how big and busy it is, but what I can say is the IceInSpace hosting is much more than just a forum. It has specific diskspace, bandwidth and shell access requirements - so most hosting companies don't offer the sort of plans I need.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to move to another server in the near future to resolve the intermittent issues we're experiencing right now.
