More for the sake of testing out the new Astrodon filters than anything else.

Conditions very unsteady tonight and the seeing is about as bad as it's been. Thunderstorms and even hail through here tonight:scared:

This was captured during a break in the weather.

It's not much...but it's good to be back in the RGB swing of things.

Phwoar, the seeing caught a hold of that one didnt it?

Transparancy tonight was also quite bad (from where I was sitting anyway..)

Good coloring however, And I guess that was what it was all about.

How did they feel during capture? Did you notice any difference in the brightness?

Hey Matt

You’re a real trooper, out in all conditions eh! You certainly seem to have got up to speed with the filters very quickly, as the colours certainly look good, despite the atrocious seeing conditions.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Alex, Jen and Dennis.

Mike. It's too early to say and last night's conditions were so bad I think it would be unfair to try and rate them at this early stage.

The seeing was terrible and there was a lot of atmospheric moisture which would have had an impact on how individual filters performed.

However, based on last night's session, they appear not to be parfocal, which is disappointing. Also, I was required to perform the same adjustments in gain to correct the histogram:(

They do, however, appear to be a little brighter compared with my Astronomiks which I sold to purchase these, although similar in that Green is the brightest, followed by Red and Blue.

Having said this, I am reserving judgment until I get a night of good seeing and transparency. The filters may perform differently in better conditions.

Now...where's that good seeing:whistle:
