I know I've been a bit cinical (in a lighthearted way of course) regarding the true randomness of their featured images  but having one of your images featured on APOD sure lifts your number of web site page hits.
The week leading up to my APOD picture I had a total of 3800 page hits at my web site or about 550 each day on average - which is a typical week (where I didn't post an image). The week immedeately following my APOD feature however my page hits totalled nearly 15000 or about 2200 per day:scared:...The biggest day was Monday - the day my image appeared, when page hits totalled nearly 6500! Now, over a week later, the number of page hits has slowly dropped back down closer to normal at 600 per day but certainly it seems a lot of people look at NASA's APOD?
Good God, guys like Robert Gendler (or even Martin Pugh) who have had many of their images appear on APOD must have web page hits numbering in the millions?:eyepop:(I am about to pass 450 000 since January 2006)
Mike
who will probably never get another SBIGPOD ... grumble, grumble, doom and gloom..... :bashcomp:
