Finally got a clear night after three months. Tried out the new observatory and the fridge temperature controller. The temperature in the fridge stayed at -10.0C all night. So I did not use ICNR. With constant temperature the darks exactly match the lights.
Details Canon 5DH, 150mm f/4.5 Achro, Astronomik 13nm HA filter, 12x16 minutes at 800 ISO. Flats and darks with ImagesPlus, Stacked with Registar and finished in PS.
Below is a full frame and a 100% crop. I am doing a HDR composite of HA and O3 and full colour to get star colours so more nights needed.

It was a real pleasure to shut the roof and just go inside at dawn.

Excellent work Bert. You will get so much more done without the hassle of setting up each night.
Thats a lovely deep Helix there, shows the Northeast Arc very well. Cant wait to see the finished result in colour

Yes Scott it started raining as soon as I fell asleep! Tonights the night for the O3!

Certainly will.

I doubt it!

Leon the Helix Neb is VERY dim and if you notice just over three hours at an ISO of 800 at f/4.5 with a 150mm diameter achro!

All jokes aside I can now spend my time doing something constructive rather than being an animal of burden just carrying stuff around.

Seems that a few images of late have taken me back to my good'ol days of film astrophotography. This image Bert reminds me of watching an image develop on paper in the darkroom, sitting in the fixer bath, with my heart beating just hainging out to see it with the white light on....:)
