By the sounds of your description, it doesn't do long-exposure?

What sort of chip does it use?

No it was made as a short exposure camera,,,I will get back to you on the chip it uses.

Just not sure how it compares to the ToUcam, in terms of sensitivity, resolution etc.

I will put some images of the Moon taken with this camera on here soon, The toucam also uses a Sony or sharp sensor I believe and is rated at 1 lux
