Hi All

Managed to get another test run done on my WO FLT110 Apo last night. Only got 10 shots before high cloud and heavy dew put an end to the session.
This again is basically to show fov of FLT110 with ST2000XCM ... quite happy with M8 almost completely fitting in shot. Could have rotated it to fit better but as I say this is still testing things out .... not going for any imaging prizes. DSS selected best 7 of 10 frames so this is a 42 minute total exposure.

Looks good to me Steve.
Detail from the hourglass through to the faint stuff.
Well done.

Thanks Phil and Matt .... I tried to do some 8 minutes exposures last night but I don't know how they came out yet. Dew caused problems again so I have to get heaters sorted out before I can do an all nighter and possibly get some better results, I don't like the thought of a hair dryer blowing across that expensive piece of glass. The results so far are encouraging. The scope only weighs 6.5kgs plus another couple for Field Flattener and ST2000XCM so it seems to guide very smoothly on the EQ6. My 254mm Newt being 15kgs by itself makes audible clicking sounds as it corrects, probably just backlash in the mount, doesn't affect images and at least I can tell when it's guiding. The Apo just sits there quietly doing it's thing apart from the fan noise of the SBIG.

Cheers
