NGC253 shot at Border Stargaze on Thursday Night with QHY8 and Vixen VC200L at F9. Starting to like this scope, looks like a keeper.
Combination of 10 X 5min exposures.

I like it Doug, you've captured some great detail in those dark lanes.

Cheers

Lots of detail, Doug. Just not sure on the colour? Very yellow.

the first one is very yellow, the second one is far better, It shows fainter detail around the outside of the galaxy and is not as overly contrasted as the first, even the stars appear tighter, a huge improvement.

You should also try re-doing the Centaurus A in the same way, see what can come out.

Thanks for the nice comments Guys.

Mike, I don't know about committed, I probably should be but thats another story. It was a great set up on the tennis court with a nice astroturf, level base and power. Friday night was an interesting evening with the general public finding their way to the courts and asking some pretty solid questions. JohnG and myself spent an interesting evening showing images then showing the guests the live view and a quick capture and process of diferent targets. Really was a great evening and weekend.
The ASAW team should be commended.:thumbsup::thum bsup:

Hi Mike,

I recall you imaging through your AP refractor a few years back at SPSP, wearing your "Gosford Quarries" T-Shirt, drinking beer, with the temp hovering around 2 degrees "AT 4:00AM". Gotta be committed :)

Cheers,
John B

PS: I think that was actually the night you took a wonderful image of M104 and won an award with it.

Ah yes, you are quite right and good memory, photo attached ...I don't feel cold too badly luckily.

It was 2005 and this was the image I entered as a last minute quicky:

It was that night that made me think twice in the future regarding bringing my whole rig to a star party :doh:hence my comment to Doug...buuuut I am bringing it all to IISAC in October Woohoo! :D

All of these different combination's...all as good as each other...stop playing with my mind!

Doug, you've capture it well, you can get lost in all of that detail, I just hope I can can produce an image like this. (Green with envy)
