Here is a image of the pointers taken just after twilight last Sunday.
A single 30 second exposure at ISO 800 on a tripod.
Enjoy. :)
Wow, Matt.
You've been posting some very nice widefield pics lately.
Well done, mate

Nice shot Matt, different perspective on the sky.
Its does show just how big the jewel box & omega Cent are in the sky.
Well done.
Another lovely shot Matty.

Thanks guys,
I'm actually very pleased with how this image came out. :)
Alex, That's not skyglow, the image was shot while it was still fairly light outside making it appear to be light pollution. I am lucky to have fairly darks skies in my backyard.

Very nice Matt. I like them. You are very good at these widefields. I have a bit of messing around with it, hope you don't mind:D
Well done Matt, I really like this image.
The effect of the brickwork against the stars is quite striking. It draws you in at first then you start to notice the subtle details of the stars.
Nice work

This is great Matt, so simple yet so contemplative and confronting - excellent.
I see what Vincent was trying to do, the image would have even more impact if the stars were round and a bit brighter, you should try and have a play with this..?

Cool,
I had the same thought as Randall: it's the monolith !
great idea to create the perspective.

Thanks Frank and Amy. :)
I've run the image through Photoshop to increase the star brightness and colour. I used a PS plun-in called star rounder to round the brighter stars slightly and then I just adjusted the levels to neutralise the background gradient colour.
I'm extremely pleased with the reprocessed version as it has brought out some really nice stars colours, for example Gacrux. :D
What do you think?
Thanks for looking.

Top Shot Matty, but leave it as it was earlier, much better than the last one, IMHO, nice going.

Thanks guys, I do personally prefer the second one myself though. :) It looks much better overall IMO.
:D
Thanks Troy,
I used a 18-55mm standard Canon lens @ 55mm for this shot.
