Hi All

Last night I decided to attach my ST2000XCM to my new WO FLT110 Apo and see what fov I would get and whether I could focus without need for extension tube etc. I only took three 6 minute exposures before having to retreat to my house due to a close neighbour deciding to have a bonfire which sent clouds of acrid smoke blasting across and into my observatory. So this is by no means an example of what the scope is capable of .... more an exploratory shoot to check focusing and as I said fov. The result was that the ST2000XCM came to focus at around 81mm on the focuser and with the 770mm focal length I have a similar fov to that of my F5 1000mm focal length Newt with Canon 350D ( slightly wider I think ). So I am quite pleased with the result despite the sore throat, stinking clothes and forced ending of my session.

Sure does Mike .... I was surprised I got anything under the circumstances. Don't you just love it when other people screw up your plans !

Thanks Trevor I just hope the neighbours burned all their rubbish, I don't want a repeat of last night !

Thanks guys, I am also wanting to see what it can really do. I'm sure it is a very capable scope. I was pleased with this first result especially as I used no filters etc to deal with light pollution, the slower F7 seems to help in that regard perhaps.
