not a bad shot.. I would have gone for a deeper depth of field for an advert style photograph... Try to get the whole object in focus...
Dave I think I know the look you were going after and I like it.
I like the fact that not the whole phone is in focus, even to suggest a shallower DOF for more impact.
Another suggestion is to go for the 'high key' look where the background is saturated white while the product remains nicely exposed.
I had a very quick go to show you what I mean (hope it's ok with you).
- applying a g.blur layer to the top half of the phone
- boost the background to get rid of the shadows and saturate the white
- you're original font colours and outline were unavoidably changed with this quick edit but can be fixed back to original later.
I'd also stick to a similar coloured font or two toned and avoid the contrasty blue/red combo.
Either way, I like what you've done, it's fun to play around with product shots.
pretty cool andrew. i think maybe a little feathering on the GB on the phone may ve worked well too. the trasition from blurred to non is a tad sharp. :)
you are right about the bi colour font tho. much better without the border.
hi matty. yeah its the first nokia that i have had that i actually like. i use the nav heaps too :)
Totally agree David, the transition is too sharp, didn't spend much time on it, just wanted to give a rough idea, but I like what you've done.
It would be fun to do more.
it was quite fun actually :)
its a challenge i have set up on a photography forum, but its taking a while for people to enter... bugger.
I'd like to do more....
hows this for a concept:
Spooning...
