Hi All

Imaged at the South Pacific Star Party, “Wiruna” Ilford NSW Australia in April 2008. Celestron GPS11, EQ Wedge, f3.3. Meade DSIc. 30x 30 seconds exposures (15 minutes). Processed in Photoshop.

A magnitude 10.1 Spiral galaxy inclined 45 degrees to our line of sight. About 24.8 million light years distant located in the constellation Antilia.

A good effort on the original DSI. I've had no joy whatsoever in imaging galaxies so far.

You live in Sydney?? Join WSAAG and come up to Linden Observatory.
I would be happy to show you how to capture galaxies.

The attached image was captured with the DSI III.
You certainly appear to have the right gear to image galaxies.
If you don't already own them, you need f3.3 and/or f6.3 focal reducers.

One of my favourite galaxies....like a 1/4 size M83. It is nice to see someone imaging this beauty!

I have just obtained a DSI for fun images.
Looking at this they will do quite a good job.
