Hi all,

captured Jupiter with Io transit in progress tonight in 5/10 conditions using 2x barlow. As Io transits at twice the speed of Jupiters rotational speed this image is only from a 50 second avi and still Io is elongated slightly.

Will process some more in the next few days.

Nice work Lester, you've come a long way in your processing.

Lester that is a lovely capture of this event. Starry Night “informed” me of this upcoming transit but when I got the ‘scope out, the seeing was quite poor so didn’t even bother attempting to record any avi’s. Thanks for posting this fine image!

Cheers

Dennis

Wow these are fantastic images Lester, i assume these are with the colling modification in use. You captured a lot of fine detail in the equatorial region there.

Thanks Fahim, Mike and Alex.

The primary was cooled to ambient, from memory 7.8 degrees. Turned off the cooling and the next time I looked at the temperature gauge the primary was 0.4 degrees below ambient.
