Ok.. I lied... so sue me. :P
Pics 1 & 2 were with the 350D + 300mm F/2.8
Pic was with my dads Nikon D50 and his new toy.. Nikkor 80-400 4.5~5.6 VR ED..
For all those nikon users in the forum.. I think this lens is a MUST HAVE! what a stunning optical system... sharp, contrasty, no abrasions on even the highest contrast subjects... Focus speed is fast, but has nothing on my L glass..
As far as nikkor's go, the only thing better that I've personally owned is the 70-200 f/2.8 IF ED.. it was faster to focus, but very much the same in optical quality..
Thats enough from me...

Very nice Alex – I see you’ve been down somewhere amongst the mangroves.
I sincerely hope the lens has no aberrations as well as a complete absence of unwelcome abrasions!:whistle:;)
Cheers

:) ok, my spelling on homonyms is perhaps a bit lacking...
I'll figure it all out one day :)
I was down on the banks of the pine river near Griffin, the kite was nesting in the tree that is in pic 2, and was fairly active from about 3:30pm through 5pm, then settled in for long enough for me to grow impatient....
I'll be buying a manfrotto tripod next week + a Jobu heavy duty gimbal :) should make all the difference!

Nice combo Alex – should increase your number of keepers, as well as making each session so much less tiring on your arms from holding all that glass.
Cheers

Nice shots Alex I like the first one.
I tried to image a Kite yesterday but had no luck, once I saw it was long gone to image with the 70-200.
I think I will buy the 100-400 just for versatility even though the 400 prime is a little sharper.
I have never previously had a single thought about Bird Photography but it it's definetly growing on me.

You're a cheeky piece of work Alex.
Nice images though. Even though one of them was flying.
lol, ya cheeky bugger!
the only problem with the 80-400 for me is that its not af-s so wont af on my camera :(
lovely crisp shots tho (well 1 and 3 are) :)
