View Full Version here: : The Twelve Apostles
Whilst on holiday recently... as well as taking a few astrophotos with my new (old) Pentax K1000 I also turned the lens towards these lovely landmarks. (for comparison with my current digital... the portrait style shot is the Pentax and the landscape style shot is from my Olympus FE-270)

Gorgeous spot there.. though I think there's only about 11 left? last I heard Thaddeus drowned
Your right Steve,
One done a anterior crciate ligament and went down in a screaming heap never to resurface.
I recommend everyone travel down the Great Ocean Road, "built by the diggers returned from war" and view the shipwreck coast.
All of these wonderful landmarks are slowly being eaten away by the tide never to return.:(
Great piccies Epoc

Its remnants are actually the pile of rubble in the foreground. I have a large poster on my wall at work when it was still standing - but it was sure undermined by that stage.
Lovely photo's. I loved both of them. And for the bit of history about them since I'm not that familar with Aussie landmarks....which made me appreciate it all the more~ :)

The one in front is the one that collapsed recently. Pity - it was very picturesque.
There should be a video of it's collapse out there somewhere, saw it on the news a day or two after it happened, someone was fortunate enough to be standing there and filming at the time.
Apparently there are only 8 still standing.
Thanks everyone... I had made a great miscalculation about the travel time from Lorne to Warnambool on this day... so it was nice to have a little treat on the way.
