Hi all,

I'm usually drooling over the Jupiter images, but here is my first real go with the 4x powermate, modded toUcam, and the vixen 4". Not up the standard on this forum, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

I wish I was imaging last night. Had the 4" on Jove at teh public field night at Mt Coot-tha last night, and it was the best I had seen for a long time.

Good start, Tony.

Just be careful of overexposure (use the white level meter in k3ccdtools), and white balance. It looks a bit purple in the belts.

Nice image scale for a small scope.

Nice work Tony. Did you take these at the public field night at Mt Coot-tha?

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Mike, I did some processing last night/this morning and played with the colour. I will have to really look at the functions for the software ;). Paul was saying that when we tried to alter a few parameters at the Astrofest that the functions didn't seem to be working. The camera has been modded and some things may not be working right, but I'll check my colour balance tonight.

No Dennis, I wished I was at home imaging as the seeing was pretty good, better than last night I thought. I set up the scope in the backyard for a session and had a ball. Grabbed a heap of clips until 22:30, froze the guy next door before I had to swap sides of the tripod, and didn't have the heart to center the scope on Jupiter with the powermate again, so I packed up and had a look at what I got.

Well done Tony, nice image scale and detail, just a bit purple.

I remember how challenging it was for me to initially image Jupiter through my 3.5" ETX, and with only 4" of aperture you have a great image scale there and you are pulling up good detail. Nice work Tony :)

Very nice result Tony. Lots of detail and good image scale. Apart from the colour you have done very well.
