yesterday a thought crossed my mind that it was time we had our annual visit from our favourite duck family (which consists of two males and one female - lucky her) , but i dismissed it, saying to myself it might be a bit early yet
lo and behold - i walk out the back door just now and what should be waddling over to-wards the feed container we put out for the birds ?
our family of ducks
so the cycle starts again
they will be daily visiters for some time now, and if we are lucky she will bring her brood in for a feed as well when they are hatched - as she has done in previous years
last year we had a second pair that visited as well - wonder if they will come back too!
maybe i am getting old and sentimental or whatever - but i so look forward to this event every year

Yes, it is interesting on how we come to look forward to spring and the cycle of life...I get that way too!
With respect to your psychic power controlling wild animals, I am not the least bit surprised that you can do this as well with your powerful mind...
After all you regularly control the weather at the Pony Club...I can not count the number of times I was sure would be a wash-out/cloud-out if not for your keen mental ability to bring clear skies!

Yes Scott
if we keep telling them of my powers - they will eventually believe it

It's great when they show up like that every year. We have two couples that nest by our dam every year.
It's really great to see the babies all waddle down in single file for their morning and evening paddles.

Funny.
The wife and I were sitting in the front room having brecky yesterday when I said to her "The ducks are normally on the pool by now, I wonder where they are today?"
Two seconds later one landed in the pool (about 4 metres from us), closely followed by the second. Don't you love nature.
Cheers,
Jason.

Strange that you mention this Geoff, we to have a pair of ducks that visit each year and they perch themselves on the chimney the same time each year. ;)
They have been doing this for quite a number of years now.

No Ducks, but I used to have a pair of Magpies that nested in my backyard in WA every year. Fed them with chicken strips one time, and after that they used to tap on the back door window looking for more food to feed the chicks. Bird brained, I think not, they don't forget :)

After a complete rebuild of our duck pond at work (evicting many families in the process), they seem to have all come back. The young ones nibble all over the lawn. Last year there was one huge brood, or so it seemed - I think it was 14 chicks!
I bet the ducks were thinking the same thing......"we wonder when that owl's gonna come out of hibernation.....back on his wings again....?"

probably more like
"that old owl better not use his crook wing as an excuse for not filling up the "bird feeder" - a bag of seed isn't that heavy" RB.
reminder - must increase the bird seed budget this month
