Trevor said it was ok to post these, so here they are.

They're his #4 and #20 images re-processed. I think Trevor's initial processing effort was very good, and my images aren't a significant improvement, more a minor improvement.

Just a bit more care on colour balance and deconvolution, and Trevor is already there.

The 2 images are both animated gif's, showing my image then Trevor's version. Each image shows for 2 seconds then swaps.

Thanks for letting me have a go at these, Trevor.

Here's the same images again, but as stills. The conversion to gif lowered the quality.

And of course i'm happy to explain any part of my processing routine, so please feel free to ask.

Hi Mike,
Looks good.
Looks like you pulled the curve down a bit. I also did that but only a very small amount.

You mention the colour balance. I didn't alter the colour balance at all. I relied on maintaining the same historgram from the three channels.

The images you processed look more blueish, in what way did you alter the colour balance?

Regards
Trevor

Hi again Mike,
Also wondered what deconvolution filters you applied?

I also used the unsharp mask within Astra Image, a very light application though.

yeah, color balance seems nicer but appart from that there is not much difference at all... The difference in both the processing routines seems most apparent on the eastern limb..

in any case, that is some fantastic Jupiter data..
