Jupiter double shadow transit animation

Hi All,

Processed these while I was capturing, so I still have to tweak them a bit, didn't optimise each frame, but the result is still OK. I have some colour to add as well, so treat this as preliminary.

Captured between 2015 and 2230, one avi (1000 frames) converted to one frame every five minutes.

This is going to take a while to finish...

It's in MPeg4 format so should play on anything with quicktime or divx. It's zipped 'cause I got an invalid file warning...

Hmmm

It seems to have been squashed somewhat. Who's an expert on PPMCentre here? I would like to get it to centre the planet but include the whole frame as I have Callisto in the frame as well as Io, but it's been chopped by PPMCentre.

do you have the GUI front end for PPMCenter? PCFE.

If so, under the PPMCenter tab, change Width and height to be a large enough frame to encompass Jupiter and the two moons...

That should do it..

Lovely animation, Stuart. Good quality throughout.

It does appear squished in the wrong direction, not sure what happened there.

If you end up cutting out a moon in ppmcentre, I usually process the moon separately from the avi, and then paste it back on the original image at the correct position.
