Who has one of these?

Do you use it much?

I'd really love one to view ol' Sol in H-a during the day, and especially do some webcam imaging. But just not sure how much daytime viewing i'd be able to do, except on weekends.

So those with a PST, how much do you use it? What are the problems with it?

I've seen them for US$499 now.. pretty cheap, but I assume I need to get a tripod or EQ mount to put it on? Do any regular eyepieces work with it?

How much are they in Aus now? Last I saw they were around AU$999, which would make importing them cheaper.. adding postage, 10% GST and customs duty, probably come in around $750-$850. Then a tripod or EQ mount, another few hundred.. hmm, getting expensive now :(

Anyone got one second hand they don't want?

(just throwing ideas around, not necessarily going to buy one right now)

Hi Iceman, yeah I have one.

I have no complaints with mine.

I bought one as soon as they were released, for the Venus transit.

They show all the things you would want to see on the sun, from flares to filaments.

Yes you can use any normal eyepeice with them.

I piggyback mine on my Meade LX-50.

For what I paid, I'm happy with the purchase.

I'm also thinking about going up a few notches soon, and so may consider selling it.

I'll keep ya posted.

Thanks

Ray
