My 2nd attempt at capturing Jupiter with average conditions again...

Clouds cleared tonight but the seeing wasn't that great. Got to try out the new 5x Powermate :D

Air stream was crazy; Jupiter was wobbling out of shape constantly until it got near the meridian and the shape stayed more round with less wobbling.

Was able to catch my first GRS capture. :)
I think the picture would have been much better if I had a better camera than this Synta Acuter Digi. camera. the temp dropped quite quickly too.
I'm not entirely sure if the airflow I could see(Jupiter wobbling out of shape) was airflow in the angle of the sky; or air flowing around the mirror/tube.

Not exactly sure how to process that well,..constructive criticism is welcome.

That's still a reasonable shot for the conditions. Some good detail visible and the GRS stands out nicely. Keep at it.!

Not a bad effort, do you have a cooling fan, at that sort of magnification cooling your primary is critical. If the temp of the mirror is to far above ambient the images will look like there is bad seeing.

Not at this time no. It's on my to do list; but I'm unsure how I'm going to design this as yet.

I have a Skywatcher 8" Dob tube I use, which I plan to modify with cooling fans. Just not to sure how to go about it as yet.

I've got heaps of 80mm and 120mm fans around and heatsinks I can use; but not exactly sure of what design or method to use.
