I have EQ6 pier with pillar extention for sale.

I bough it only a week ago. It's heavy duty EQ6 pier by Skywatcher. It has wheels which make the pier very easy to move around. It also has locks which help you to level your setup in seconds and make it as stable as a rock.

Be honest I really like it and would love to keep it. However because I keep my setup indoors and floor in there is higher than outside for more that 20cm I couldn't find any way to move safely the pier with a mount head and two scopes mounted on top outside and back.

I even built a bridge hoping that it helps but it didn't :-( Due ot the big differences in levels an angle is very high and it doesn't even save to move my whole setup over it during daytime.

So this pier must go. It's 90cm from a ground. It comes with all original boxes. Also I added a telescopic handle to it so it's much easier to move the pier without hurting your back. It also comes with two rings which can help you to mount any belt case for keeping your eyepieces and other gear. I will also include one case. Also it comes with pillar extention which adds extra 20cm making the total height of the pier 110cm.

Everything shown on the pictures below is included.
The price is $300 firm.
Sorry, Local pick up only as it's all very heavy to be posted for a reasonable price.

If you dont have the same problems with different levels I'm sure you will love this pier.

P.S. Please be aware that if you want to use the pier with the pillar extention you will need a part of your EQ6 tripod. I don't know how do you guys call it but lets call it the thing. It's shown on the last photo and it comes with the pier and included. However the pillar extention doesn't come with any and the one from the pier doesnt fit to the pillar. You will need to take the one from your EQ6 tripod.

Hi Richard,

can you tell me what's your postcode. I'd prefer to sell it locally but if there is no buyers who can come and pick it up I can try and post it.

cheers,

Mike

Hi Geoff,

Unfortunately it wont fit HEQ5. It's designed only for EQ6 and EQ6 Pro mounts.

If you need one for HEQ5 Skywatcher also makes piers designed for it.

cheers,

Mike

P.S. thanks for the link.

Hi Richard,

just got a quote from packandsend and it's $155 to your door.

I don't know may be it's quite reasonable considering that it comes in three cartons with the total weight of 23kgs but it's still half of the price for the pier.

You can try to find a better shipping quote if you want.

Below are packaging details:

1x carton(with pier legs) - 54(L) x52(W) x23(H) -8kg
1x carton(with pier tube) - 95(L) x18(W) x17(H) -11.5kg
1x carton(with pillar extention) - 33(L) x17(W) x17(H) -4kg

I can try to pack the pillar into the first cartoon with legs so it will come in two boxes but the total weight will be the same.

All boxes should be picked up by a courier from South Melbourne(3028) during working hours. I can also drop them at a courier place but will be able to do it only on weekends or after hours on weekdays.

cheers,

Mike

e-go.com.au are usually very cheap.. they use Hunter Express as their primary carrier for heavy goods... I sent 2 desktop computer systems a month or so a go from brisbane to melbourne for a total of $51.

Hi Mate, Yes, i was wondering if this peer can take a HEQ5 Mount, or doe's it just take an EQ6 Mount...I am thinking of getting an ORION100MM APOCHROMATIC REFRACTOR with a HEQ5 MOUNT, HOWEVER IF I NEAD A heq6 then i will have to get that one..Thanks..Lloyd:D

Hi Lloyd,

I don't think a HEQ5 mount head will fit this pier. According to Andrews's website http://www.andrewscom.com.au/site-section-10.htm (scroll to the bottom of the page) Skywatcher makes two different types of piers. One is designed for HEQ5/HEQ5PROs and the other is for EQ6/EQ6PROs.
My mount is EQ6Pro and I bought the pier for this type of mount.

cheers,

Mike
