Hello all,
This is my first post here, I just aquired a DMK 21AF04.AS and after reading the articles here to help with capture and processing, I am pretty pleased with this second light acquisition.
Aquired with IC Capture
C8 with 2X Powermate
Orion Filters and Wheel, three 1 min at 30 FPS (about 1600 frames)
Registax, Images Plus, Astra Image, PS CS3
Clear Skies,

Not bad Jim,
Almost looks like a 3-D image with that moon in tricolor.
Well done and welcome to IIS.

Very nice indeed, Jim! Lots of detail there. What altitude does Jupiter reach for you in Texas?
That's a really good second light, I look forward to seeing more from you.
:welcome: to IIS!

Thanks all,
I'm near Houston, so I'm in the SE part of Texas. I took these pics when Jupiter was about at 33 degrees (at least according to my planitarium program).
I'm going to try to image the GRS tonight, weather is looking good.
Clear skies,
Jim

Same here Jim, unfortunately there's a rotten jetstream over me at the moment.
Excellent results for 33deg!

Nice job fellow Texan. I've seen some very nice planetary pics from this area. I'm a little south of the city but the sky is still pretty bright at night. Is your location sort of dark at all (at least not towards Houston)?

Well done and I'm looking forward to more.

Nice result with lots of sharp detail, Jim. Excellent for an 8" and low altitude. Have you tried processing again, aligning on the moon? It clearly moved significantly between the R & B exposures.

Phil, Matt, Dave, Mike and Graeme -Thanks for the warm welcome!
Dave - I'm north of Houston about 45 miles and have pretty good skies, some light pollution and trees, but I'm far enough from Houston to escape the light dome.
Graeme - I read a bit in the two articles here about processing the moons seperately, but I was working hard to get the workflow down and skipped that step. I will go back and realign on Io and then recombine. The 3D effect of the misaligned moon makes me dizzy.
