Took a shot of M20 Luminance last night with the 145 (32*120s via a neb filter), got red and green set too but I ran out of time so this image is a combination - Luminance data from the 145 and colour data from my most recent shot on M20 with the 20D. I like the resolution I get with the 145 mono but the data collection and processing is a pain. Much to learn...but the detail I am getting is very pleasing.
Good effort there John. Looks like a few minor registration problems between the RGB and luminance. Certainly some great details on display. Blinking two images, the colour rendition has a larger image scale or would appear to have been cropped differently. Just for reference, I would suggest you register the RGB to the Luminance and not the other way around. Upscaling the luminance can be done, but the results aren't always pleasing. If you want to get tricky, you can upscale then combine to create a new "super" LRGB, then downscale this to match the luminance again. This maintains star shapes reasonably well. Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing more.
