We got some decent photos of the GRS last night. This time I decided to give the entire procedure on one of my blog pages. I have made it possible for anyone to download 1. the movies or 2. the unsharpened frames. Naturally I am dying to see how you would have processed these for yourself. And I'd like you to give your assessment of the seeing. I agree with everyone's opinions about oversharpening. Only Phyllis Diller would accept these. I've enrolled in a 12 step program to wean myself from overusage of the wavelet sliders. My next post will be processed by my wife Gail and you will see that only I have the disease.:screwy:

Sorry Dave I haven't forgotten about this - I gave it a preliminary process on the train but was getting some horrible onion rings on the blue channel (green and red were ok).

I also noted on your page that you left the gain and gamma the same for all 3 channels.

You should always adjust the settings to get the histogram roughly the same for all 3 channels. For me with the DMK, it means 100% gain for blue channel, slightly less for red, and slightly less again for green. It looks like your blue channel is too underexposed.

But, the seeing looked very good especially for the altitude, probably 7-8/10 if not better. If it was 50deg +, you'd have a killer image.

Gail's processing is more natural, yours is too harsh. I'll try and get around to finishing my version tomorrow, but the data i'm capturing now looks pretty good so it will take priority ;)
